Description: Off the Record: The Improvised Music Documentary, the smash hit full-band musical improv show, is pleased to announce auditions for a new spinoff! With our new partner Sawubona Creativity Project, we are developing a new show featuring acoustic, folk, electronica, R&B, and hip-hop for monthly run on first Saturdays at 7PM, beginning in August. Joining the spinoff from our main cast are: Jasmine Jiang, pauli reese, Alex Levitt, Annie Briskey, Yasmine Beydoun, and Dan Perlman.
Auditions will be seen Sunday April 13, 1-5:30PM. No excerpts are required. You will have the opportunity to improvise with one of our cast members and perform your song accompanied live by one of our house musicians. There will be no callbacks.
What are we looking for? We are casting 2-3 new company members. The successful auditions will be people who play strong, grounded characters, and who can sing improvised songs in these styles. We especially encourage femme, trans, queer, non-binary, non-white, and/or mixed race improvisers and emcees to apply. We are committed to a minimum 50% of the cast holding at least one of these identities.
Time Commitment: New Cast members must attend four rehearsals prior to their first performance in the show, rehearsal dates TBD though likely on the weekends.
Compensation: All cast are paid an equal share of ticket sales (after expenses) for each performance.Off the Record: the Improvised Music Documentary was created by pauli reese and David Dritsas.

Description: StoryUP! is a one-of-a-kind adventure where improv actors bring audience ideas and stories to life on stage. This interactive show keeps kids engaged every step of the way by pulling them into the action!
What are we looking for? We're looking for improvisers to join our StoryUP! cast. StoryUP! improvisers should be high energy and be comfortable working directly with children ages 3-11.
Time Commitment: Rehearsals are every 4th Sunday of the month from 1pm-3pm Starting May 25th.
Show Dates/Times: 1x per month onsite at SCP. Vary. Weekend and Daytime Flexibility is a plus.
Compensation: Performers are paid $35 per hour for offsite performances (at schools, libraries, and community centers). Performers will share a percentage of ticket sales for onsite showcases. Onsite shows are typically free or very low cost. There is no pay for rehearsals.

Description: In this family-friendly show, improv performers put a fresh twist on a classic tale. This show is fun and immersive. Audience members become a big part of the adventure as performers will need their help to bring these stories to life.
What are we looking for? We're looking to create a team of high energy improvisers with a knowledge of various fairy tales and princess stories who are comfortable creating big characters, as well as working directly with children ages 3-11.
Once! cast members will rehearse alongside StoryUP! cast members. Because of the similarity in programming for the shows. You can be a member of both teams.

Description: The Great Bakersfield Pie Mystery (formerly The Joe Play) is a new play devised by several students in the playwriting program at Sawubona Creativity Project. The students range in age from 5-9. Through pure imagination they devised a world with rich characters and a relatable storyline.
The Great Bakersfield Pie Mystery is a story full of intrigue, mystery and friendship. Tag along as these 4 friends try to figure out who would want to destroy Bakersfield’s most beloved baker.
What are we looking for? We are looking to cast characters: Joe the Pie Maker, Roxanne, Lucy, Ronald and Sam. The character of Sam plays 2 other characters in the play. Actors of all genders will be considered for these parts.
Time Commitment: This show will be performed at Sawubona Creativity Project (1626 E. Passyunk Ave) as part of the Philadelphia Fringe Festival, which takes place from September 4th-28th, 2025. FringeShow Dates: September 27th & 28th @ 2pm-3pm.
The table read is scheduled for June 11 @ 7p-9p. Rehearsal schedule dependent on cast availability.
Compensation: $25 stipend (per show) at the end of the run. Performers will also share 20% of ticket sales.

Zip, Zap, Love is an Improvised dating show where love is the game.
What Were Looking For: actors and improv performers who can play big, yet grounded characters. Performers should be able to think on their feet and be ready to answer any question the Bach throws their way.
Time Commitment: Two rehearsals May 21st and May 28th 7pm-9pm. Show Date June 14th @ 7pm
Compensation: Performers will share a percentage of ticket sales (after expenses).

Join Our Growing BIPOC Performer Community!
At Sawubona Creativity Project, we’re working to build a strong, vibrant community of BIPOC improv performers—because we all deserve to see ourselves reflected on stage.
What We Are Looking For: Actors improvisors and performers of color who are interested in joining one of our house teams. All experience levels are welcome. We will make sure you get in where you fit in! Teams will receive improv training and coaching.
Time Commitment: Cast members will practice weekly with one of our improv coaches. With the goal of performing 1-2x per month during the Friday Night Improv Shows.
Compensation: volunteer roles
Rehearsal Schedule: Weekly on Sundays from 3pm-5pm.
